SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND School | Bristol (BS4 & BS16) | Full-Time | Permanent Opportunity

Protocol Education is recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a highly respected specialist SEND school in BS4 & BS16, Bristol. Due to continued growth, the school is recruiting on an ongoing basis and is looking for passionate individuals who are committed to building a long-term career in specialist education.

This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after 12 weeks.

About the Role

You'll be supporting children and young people aged 3–18 years with a range of complex additional needs, including:

  • Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
  • Complex learning needs
  • Autism (ASC)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Physical disabilities
  • Non-verbal communication
  • Challenging behaviour

This role involves providing high-quality, person-centred support to help pupils access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have at least 1 year's SEND experience working with children or young people.
  • Have more than 1 year's Right to Work in the UK.
  • Are looking for a full-time, long-term, permanent opportunity.
  • Are comfortable supporting pupils aged 3–18 years.
  • Are confident providing personal care where required.
  • Are comfortable working with wheelchair users, hoists, PEG feeding, and pupils with complex medical needs.
  • Have a calm, patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply.
