Location: North Tyneside
Salary: £90 - £120 pay depending upon experience
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025

Some students carry more than just books into the classroom. Could you be the steady hand that helps them through it?

We’re working with schools across North Tyneside to find a Mental Health Support Worker who’s compassionate, grounded, and ready to support young people navigating social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

This is a role with heart and purpose—perfect for someone who believes in second chances and small wins.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting children and young people with SEMH needs across school settings

  • Working closely with pupils with Autism, complex learning needs, and EHCPs

  • Encouraging emotional regulation, resilience, and positive routines

  • Creating a calm, respectful learning space where pupils feel safe and understood

  • Helping students build confidence and reconnect with their learning journey

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone who’s patient, empathetic, and genuinely committed to inclusive education

  • Experience working with young people with additional needs (education, care, or community backgrounds welcome)

  • Confidence in managing behaviour with a trauma-informed approach

  • Brilliant communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider support network

Why join Protocol Education?

  • Weekly pay via PAYE—no umbrella deductions

  • FREE CPD including mental health, de-escalation, and SEND training

  • Ongoing support from your own local consultant who knows North Tyneside schools

  • A meaningful role with the potential to lead to long-term or permanent work

  • Opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people

If you're ready to bring care, consistency, and calm into the classroom, we’d love to hear from you.
