Protocol Education are recruiting Sports Coaches to work as Teaching Assistants within specialist settings in South Shields.
You already have many of the skills schools are looking for — communication, teamwork, motivation, boundaries and the ability to build relationships.

Your Role
You'll support young people across the school day, helping them to:
- Engage with learning
- Build confidence
- Develop communication skills
- Manage behaviour and emotions
- Participate in physical activity
- Develop teamwork and resilience
- Make positive choices
- Build positive relationships with adults
You'll also support lessons, 1:1 work, small groups, break times and lunchtime activities.
Driving Advantageous
Ideally, you'll hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own car.
This is particularly useful for candidates who are able to travel between South Shields and surrounding areas.
DBS
Candidates with an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service are particularly advantageous for immediate-start positions.
If you don't currently have an Enhanced DBS, you can still apply, but you'll need to be able to apply for one ASAP and complete the required safeguarding checks.
