About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Mansfield. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they are able to achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher or a qualified teacher looking to further their career within SEND education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans and support strategies.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external agencies.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress and achievement.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and support the development of effective intervention strategies.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEND practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to teaching.
