We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maths Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching in line with the national curriculum and school guidelines. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, and supporting a range of learning needs. The successful candidate will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encourage participation, and promote high standards of behaviour and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons tailored to a range of abilities and aligned with the national curriculum.
- Regularly assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to students and parents or carers.
- Prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Identify individual learning needs and provide targeted support or interventions where required.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and whole-school initiatives, supporting ongoing improvement and development.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, attainment, and other relevant data.
- Uphold the school’s values and adhere to safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times.
Essential Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths at secondary level.
Experience
- Proven experience teaching mathematics within a secondary school setting, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess lessons that drive student progress.
- Familiarity with school routines and effective classroom management strategies.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong subject knowledge, including curriculum requirements and assessment standards.
- Effective behaviour management and classroom control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents or carers.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit a variety of learning needs.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Confident use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
