About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality Science education, inspiring students to develop curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their career within a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable).
  • Teach Science in accordance with the National Curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes student achievement and engagement.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and effective classroom management.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
  • Support STEM activities, science clubs, and other enrichment opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Previous teaching experience is desirable, although ECTs are encouraged to apply.
