Are you a trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) looking to make a lasting impact in the lives of young people? We are currently working with a number of supportive and inclusive primary schools seeking compassionate and experienced ELSAs to provide targeted emotional and pastoral support to pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who may be experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges, helping them develop the confidence and strategies they need to succeed in school.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored ELSA intervention sessions on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, self-esteem, social skills, anxiety, friendships, and resilience.
  • Work with children who have SEN, SEMH, attachment needs, or who may be facing challenges at home or in school.
  • Build trusting relationships that enable pupils to engage positively with learning.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENDCOs, pastoral staff, and parents to ensure consistent support.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans and reviews.
  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive school environment.

We're Looking For

  • A recognised ELSA qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of emotional wellbeing and child development.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with school staff.
