SEN Teaching Assistant – Watford

We are working with a number of inclusive and welcoming schools across Watford that are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of special educational needs. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey by providing the encouragement, structure and support they need to succeed.

Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and families, you will help pupils access learning, develop confidence and build important social and emotional skills within a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Supporting children's academic, social and emotional development
• Assisting pupils in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities
• Implementing individual support plans and behaviour strategies
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
• Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a patient, caring and nurturing approach
• Has experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential)
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Is adaptable, resilient and committed to inclusive education
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
