About the Role

As an SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to help them engage with learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting students with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Supporting classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
  • Following safeguarding and behaviour management procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driving licence is essential
  • Team Teach or behaviour management training is advantageous but not essential
