SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant – Newcastle
This SEMH primary role in Newcastle is all about being that steady, trusted presence who helps children feel understood—not judged.
You’ll be supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs who may struggle with anxiety, frustration, or attachment. It’s meaningful, hands-on work that genuinely changes lives.
What you’ll do each day:

Support pupils during lessons, breaks, and transitions

Use trauma-informed approaches and clear, consistent boundaries

Help pupils recognise their emotions and build positive coping skills

Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to keep learning accessible

Celebrate small but powerful steps forward
