Some children need a little extra support to shine. They need a calm presence, a trusted adult, and someone who sees beyond the challenging moments.

Could that be you?

A welcoming primary school in Patchway is looking for a full-time Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a familiar face in the school community and make a lasting difference to pupils who benefit from consistency, encouragement, and positive relationships.

No two days are ever quite the same, but every day matters.

The role

You'll work closely with pupils who need additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Building positive relationships that help children feel safe and confident
  • Supporting teachers to create calm, inclusive classrooms
  • Encouraging positive behaviour strategies and emotional wellbeing
  • Celebrating the small victories that lead to big progress over time

Who we're looking for

Formal qualifications aren't essential. What matters most is your ability to connect with children, stay patient under pressure, and bring warmth and consistency to the school day.

Experience we'd particularly value includes:

  • SEN experience
  • Previous work in a primary school setting
  • Youth work, mentoring, coaching, care work, or community support roles

If you've helped young people overcome challenges and believe every child deserves someone in their corner, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential requirements

To join this school community, you'll need:

  • An enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service
  • 24 months of references covering your recent employment or experience

What you'll receive

  • A full-time, permanent position within a supportive primary school
  • Pay starting from £14.25 per hour, increasing with relevant experience
  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
  • Opportunities for professional development within behaviour and SEND support
  • A referral scheme with rewards for recommending friends

Experience with SEN is highly valued, and if you're not already Thrive trained, ask us about our free Thrive training. It's a brilliant addition to your toolkit and something schools genuinely appreciate.

If you're ready to build meaningful relationships, support young people to succeed, and become part of a school that values every child, we'd love to hear from you.

September will be here before we know it. Why not make this the year you start something that really matters?
