About the School: an independent day special school catering to young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as complex requirements. Operating across two sites—we offer a range of academic and vocational courses tailored to individual student needs. We are seeking an experienced and passionate KS2 Teacher to take on the additional responsibility of Primary Lead. This pivotal role involves leading the primary phase, developing and implementing curricula, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the educational experiences of our primary students, many of whom have SEMH and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the primary phase, overseeing curriculum development and implementation.

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the diverse needs of KS2 students.

  • Manage and support a team of primary teachers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and effective teaching environment.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, implementing strategies to address individual learning needs.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive school improvement initiatives.

  • Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial experience teaching at the primary level, particularly KS2.

  • Proven leadership experience within a primary education setting.

  • Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies to support students with complex needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
