  • We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a lovely school in Barnet. The successful candidate will support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), including assisting with personal care needs. A background in care or experience in a similar setting would be advantageous.​

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide tailored support to students with PMLD, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement in learning activities.​

    • Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, maintaining the dignity and respect of each pupil.​

    • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of teaching staff and therapists.​

    • Utilise communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to support students' understanding and expression.​

    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and independence.​

    • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil's development.​

    • A calm and sensitive approach.​

    • A willingness to learn and develop your own skills and abilities to best support our pupils.​

    • Resilience, as there are times when things are a challenge both mentally and physically.

    • Have NVQ2 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification.​
