About the role
We’re looking for someone who brings steady hands and a warm heart to a welcoming SEND school in Walsall. You’ll be supporting pupils with EHCPs for SEND, MLD, PMLD, or SLD needs, helping them feel confident, understood, and ready to learn.
This is a full-time role where no two days look quite the same. You’ll work alongside the class team, offering gentle encouragement, clear structure, and lots of positive moments. Some pupils will learn best in the classroom, while others may need a quieter space to focus. You’ll be there for both, helping them stay engaged and celebrating every small win.
If you love helping children grow emotionally as much as academically, this could be the perfect match for you.
What we’re looking for

- Understanding of sensory needs and how to create a calming environment
- Patience, positivity, and a gentle approach to behaviour
- Confident communicator who can work well with teachers, specialists, and parents
- Knowledge of PECS or similar communication tools is helpful but not essential
- Relevant SEND or childcare qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement
Why join Protocol Education?
- Weekly pay through PAYE
- Free access to our online CPD Academy
- Personal support from your own dedicated consultant
- Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
- Streamlined registration and local roles across The Midlands
- Referral rewards when you recommend a friend
