Some children need a little extra support to feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

That’s where you come in.

Protocol Education are working with a welcoming school in BS13 who are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join them end of March. This role is all about consistency, calm energy and building positive relationships with pupils who may need a bit more understanding and structure in their day.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups

  • Helping children regulate emotions and return to learning

  • Using de-escalation strategies in a calm and confident way

  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCO and pastoral staff

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and celebrating progress, big and small

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs

  • Is calm under pressure and naturally empathetic

  • Can set clear boundaries while building strong relationships

  • Is reliable, proactive and a team player

  • Believes every child deserves a fresh start

Experience with ADHD, ASD or trauma-informed practice would be a real bonus, but not essential.

Why work with Protocol Education?

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant

  • Free CPD, including Thrive training

  • Flexible opportunities across Bristol

  • A team who genuinely care about your development

  • Weeky pay, (£14.30 - £15) per hour

What We Need to Get You Started:

  •      Passport
  •      Two proofs of address, such as driving licence, utility bill or council tax letter
  •      CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
  •      Two years of references, including SEN or childcare where applicable
  •      OSPC if you have lived overseas for three months or more in the last five years
