Protocol Education is currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs) and SEN Teaching Assistants to join welcoming primary schools across Ipswich.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to children across the primary age range, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and build independence.

Depending on the school and individual needs of the pupils, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEND)
  • Helping pupils access the primary school curriculum
  • Supporting literacy, numeracy, phonics and classroom activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

About You

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working with children, or a relevant qualification
  • A genuine passion for education, childcare and child development
  • An interest in SEN, SEND and inclusive education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The confidence to support children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • A professional and reliable attitude
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a primary school team
  • Availability to work full-time

Relevant experience could include working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Practitioner, Childcare Practitioner, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Behaviour Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Tutor, Sports Coach or in a similar child-focused role.

A qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare, Early Years, Education, Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification would also be advantageous.
