The Role
As an English Graduate, you may work as a:
- Teaching Assistant
- Literacy Support Assistant
- Reading Intervention Mentor
- Academic Mentor
- Learning Support Assistant
- SEND Teaching Assistant
- Inclusion Support Assistant
You'll gain invaluable experience by:
- Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Delivering literacy and reading interventions.
- Helping students develop confidence in reading, writing and communication.
- Supporting learners with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
- Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
- Working alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEND professionals.
- Building strong relationships that support student engagement and achievement.
- Helping students overcome barriers to learning.

We're Looking For
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
