Are you a Speech & Language Therapy graduate looking to gain practical experience before pursuing a career in therapy, education or SEND?
Protocol Education is working with a specialist SEND school in Gateshead that is looking for a caring and enthusiastic graduate to join their team as a Teaching Assistant.
You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them develop their communication, interaction, confidence and independence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs
- Working 1:1 and with small groups
- Using visual resources and communication strategies
- Supporting pupils with autism and complex SEND
- Helping children communicate their needs
- Supporting classroom learning and engagement
- Building positive relationships with pupils
- Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Speech & Language Therapy, Speech and Language Sciences or a related subject
- A genuine interest in supporting children with SEND
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy and a positive attitude
- Previous experience with children is desirable but not essential
