Are you ready for a role that’s challenging, rewarding, and truly life-changing?
We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Behavioural Support Assistant to join a dynamic and high-performing Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Tower Hamlets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people who have been excluded from mainstream education or are at risk of exclusion. If you're ready to play a key role in guiding them back into learning and helping them build brighter futures, this role could be for you!
Why You’ll Love This Role:
- Be part of a tight-knit, passionate team that supports students who’ve faced big challenges.
- Work in a high-impact, hands-on environment where no two days are the same.
- Gain invaluable experience in behaviour support, SEMH, and alternative education pathways.
- Receive ongoing training and expert support to grow your skills and confidence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, both 1:1 and in small groups.
- De-escalating challenging situations with calm, empathy and professionalism.
- Helping to deliver tailored learning and using behaviour strategies that truly work.
- Building trusting, respectful relationships with students who need consistency and care.
- Working closely with teachers, SEN specialists and external agencies to give every pupil the best shot at success.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
- Someone who’s resilient, compassionate, and 100% unshockable
- A positive, proactive attitude.
- Based in or able to commute reliably to Tower Hamlets
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
More than just a job! This is a chance to be a role model, a mentor and a lifeline for young people who’ve been let down by mainstream education. You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and yes, there will be tough moments, but the impact you’ll make is unmatched!
