SEND Support Assistants – Gateshead
We are working with a number of welcoming and inclusive schools across Gateshead that are looking to recruit dedicated SEND Support Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
What you'll be doing
- Supporting pupils with a variety of SEND needs throughout the school day
- Delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning support
- Encouraging participation, confidence and engagement in classroom activities
- Working closely with class teachers, SENDCOs and wider school staff
- Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, social development and independence
- Monitoring progress and contributing to individual support plans
What we're looking for
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- A caring, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A positive, proactive and flexible attitude
- Willingness to travel across Gateshead and surrounding areas
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous but not essential
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
