Year 6 Teacher

Looking for a Year 6 role where you can really make your mark before the final stretch of primary school?

This welcoming and forward-thinking primary school is ready for a confident KS2 teacher to step into a settled Year 6 class after Easter. It’s the kind of place where high expectations go hand in hand with genuine care, for pupils and staff alike.

You’ll be joining a school that’s rooted in its community, where relationships matter, behaviour is well managed, and everyone pulls in the same direction. There’s a real focus on helping pupils grow into independent, resilient learners, especially as they prepare for that all-important transition to secondary school.

What makes this school stand out:

  • A strong, supportive leadership team who are present and approachable
  • A clear, well-structured curriculum that helps you teach, not reinvent the wheel
  • Pupils who are engaged, respectful, and proud of their school
  • A culture that balances academic achievement with wellbeing and personal development
  • A team that shares ideas, supports each other, and celebrates the small wins (and the big ones too)

The role:

You’ll take on full class responsibility for a Year 6 group, guiding them through their final term with confidence and care. SATs prep will be part of the journey, but it’s not all about the tests, it’s about building confidence, independence, and a love of learning that lasts beyond July.

Planning and marking are part of the role, so you’ll be paid to scale to reflect the responsibility.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have UK QTS and solid KS2 experience
  • Feel confident leading a class and preparing pupils for SATs
  • Build strong relationships quickly, with pupils and colleagues
  • Bring a calm, organised approach, especially when things get busy (as Year 6 often does!)
  • Care about doing the job properly, not just getting through the day

If you’re the kind of teacher who enjoys that final push with Year 6, seeing the progress, building their confidence, and sending them off ready for what’s next, this one’s well worth a look.
