If you’re a subject specialist who likes a bit of variety, an experienced teacher thinking about stepping back into the classroom, or just ready for a better work life balance, supply teaching might be exactly what your week’s been missing.

We’re working with a well-established, genuinely inclusive secondary school in Shropshire. It’s one of those places where there’s a real sense of community, staff know their pupils properly, and expectations are high because they truly believe every student can achieve.

The curriculum is broad and balanced across Key Stages 3 and 4, with strong roots in English, Maths, Science and PE. There’s plenty of choice too, with a wide range of option subjects, and a real focus on languages. French starts in Year 7, with German and Spanish introduced from Year 8, giving students the chance to broaden their horizons early on.

There’s plenty going on beyond the classroom as well. Drama, music and sport are all thriving, and regular trips help bring learning to life. It’s not just talk, extended learning is part of the culture here, and you can see it in how students get involved.

Pastoral care is a big priority. A dedicated team works closely with teaching staff and the SEN department to make sure every pupil feels supported and ready to learn. As part of a wider trust, the school also collaborates with local primaries, secondaries and post-16 providers, helping students feel confident about their next steps. Progression into further education after Year 11 is strong.

You bring the subject knowledge and classroom confidence, we’ll handle the rest.

Whether you’re after full-time supply, part-time flexibility, or just the odd day here and there, we’ll shape something around you. Lessons are planned, schools are prepped, and we’re always just a call away. You can focus on what you do best, teaching and actually enjoying your day.

What we’re looking for:

• UK QTS and solid secondary experience
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine love of teaching
• Calm, confident behaviour management
• Flexible, level-headed, and quick to adapt
• Someone who wants each day to feel like a good one, for students and themselves

What you’ll get from us:

• Competitive weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
• Flexible roles that fit around your life
• Access to a wide mix of local secondary schools
• A consultant who listens, keeps things simple, and has your back
• FREE access to our online CPD Academy to keep your skills sharp

At Protocol Education, supply isn’t a backup plan. It’s variety, flexibility, and the chance to focus on the part of the job you love most.
