About the Role

We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Doncaster. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist pupils with their academic, social, emotional and personal development.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and learning needs.
  • Help implement individual learning and support plans.
  • Adapt activities and learning resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, communication and independence.
  • Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety policies.

Experience

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, autism, ADHD, communication needs, behavioural needs or learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.
