DRAMA TEACHER – LONGBENTON
Pay: £163 to £263 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Long term, short term, or supply
If you’re the kind of teacher who can get even the most reserved student to step forward and give something a go, you’ll fit beautifully into this Drama role. Longbenton’s schools are looking for a Drama specialist who brings calm energy, consistency, and a genuine belief in what performing arts can do for young people.
Drama here isn’t seen as a filler subject. SLT genuinely value it as a space where pupils can build confidence, communicate better, and work as a team. The department is friendly, collaborative, and well organised, with staff who share resources and understand how unpredictable creative subjects can sometimes feel.
What you’ll be doing:
• Teaching Drama across KS3 and KS4 with well structured schemes of work
• Supporting GCSE pupils with devising, performance, character work and portfolio tasks
• Building supportive routines that help students take creative risks without the chaos
• Bringing warmth and clarity to lessons, even when group work starts to spiral
• Working with a department that loves to share ideas and celebrate small wins
What you’ll need:
• QTS or QTLS
• Strong behaviour management delivered with respect and consistency
• A calm, encouraging approach that makes students feel safe to try new things
Why Drama teachers love working with Protocol Education:
• Weekly PAYE pay that’s transparent and reliable
• Free access to CPD, including behaviour management, trauma informed practice, mental health, SEND strategies and pedagogy
• A dedicated consultant who listens, checks in, and doesn’t leave you guessing
• Opportunities to work in mainstream, SEND and alternative provisions
• Long term roles if you love stability, flexible supply if you want balance
• A super easy registration process and a referral scheme that actually rewards you
If you’re ready to help pupils grow in confidence, find their voice and enjoy their learning again, this could be a brilliant next step.
