Help shape confident learners in KS2 this September.

We’re working with schools in South Bristol who are looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their KS2 team from September.

This is a brilliant opportunity to become part of a supportive school community where children are encouraged to aim high, build resilience, and develop the skills they need for the next stage of their learning journey.

You’ll be joining a team that values collaboration, consistency, and genuine care for every child, creating an environment where both pupils and staff can thrive.

What your role will involve:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across KS2 classrooms
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils who need additional help
  • Helping children stay focused, confident, and motivated in their learning
  • Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm classroom environment
  • Encouraging independence and building pupils’ confidence over time

Who this role is perfect for:

  • Someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
  • A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with pupils
  • Patient, calm, and consistent in your approach
  • A team player who enjoys working alongside teachers and support staff
  • Someone who wants to gain valuable school experience from September onwards
  • Graduates or aspiring teachers looking to take their first step into education

Why work with Protocol Education:

  • Roles starting in September with local schools
  • Weekly PAYE pay, £14.30 – £15.25 per hour
  • Flexible opportunities depending on your availability
  • Support from a dedicated consultant who understands your goals
  • Easy, straightforward booking and onboarding system
  • £250 referral bonus when you recommend a teacher

What we need to get you started:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address
  • A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including education or childcare where possible
  • An overseas police check if you’ve lived abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years

If you’re ready to step into a role where you can genuinely support children at a key stage in their learning, we’d love to hear from you.

Before you apply, are you Thrive trained? If not, we can support you with free training, a great way to build confidence and stand out in KS2 support roles.
