KS1 LSA - September Start

Location: Bristol
Job Type: Contract
Reference: 311025972
Salary: £92 - £94/day + PAYE & £50 for Teacher Referral
Job Published: 25 June 2026

Every day in KS1 is different, and that’s what makes it special.

We’re working with friendly and supportive primary schools across BS6 who are looking for Learning Support staff to join their KS1 teams from September.

These are schools where curiosity is encouraged, progress is celebrated, and every adult in the classroom plays a vital role in helping children grow in confidence, independence, and love for learning.

If you enjoy working with young children and want to be part of those early “lightbulb moments”, this could be the perfect next step.

What your role will involve:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within KS1 classrooms
  • Working closely with teachers to help deliver engaging lessons
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support where needed
  • Helping children develop early literacy, numeracy, and social skills
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and keeping pupils focused and engaged
  • Creating a calm, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment

Who this role is perfect for:

  • Someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children
  • A patient, caring, and positive presence in the classroom
  • A strong communicator who builds relationships easily
  • A team player who wants to support teachers and pupils alike
  • Graduates or career changers looking to build experience in education
  • Someone who wants a meaningful role from September onwards

Experience in schools or childcare is helpful, but not essential, what matters most is attitude and commitment.

Why work with Protocol Education:

  • September start opportunities across BS6 primary schools
  • £92-£97 per day, paid weekly via PAYE
  • Flexible roles to suit your availability
  • Dedicated consultant support throughout your journey
  • Simple and efficient booking system
  • £250 referral bonus when you recommend a teacher

What we need to get you started:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address
  • A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including childcare or education where possible
  • Overseas police check if you’ve lived abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years

If you’re ready to support children at one of the most important stages of their education, we’d love to hear from you.

Before you apply, are you Thrive trained? If not, we can support you with free training, a great way to build confidence and stand out in KS1 support roles.
