We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and provide dedicated support to a Key Stage 2 pupil with an EHCP.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and understands that positive relationships, consistency and patience can make a significant difference to a child's experience at school.
The role will involve:
- Providing tailored 1:1 support in line with the pupil’s EHCP
- Supporting a neurodivergent learner with their individual needs
- Helping with emotional regulation, confidence and independence
- Adapting activities and resources to make learning accessible
- Delivering literacy, numeracy and social skills interventions
- Supporting small groups where required
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEND
- Understands neurodivergence and inclusive practice
- Can build trusting, positive relationships with children
- Is patient, resilient and emotionally supportive
- Can promote independence rather than creating reliance on adult support
- Is confident supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs
- Takes a proactive and child-centred approach
This position would particularly suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Partner or SEN Support Worker looking for a longer-term role where they can make a genuine impact.
