About the Role
We’re seeking an SEMH Support Worker to join a nurturing alternative provision in Sunderland. You’ll be supporting pupils who benefit from structure, patience, and trusted adults who stay calm under pressure.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through structured routines
- Using positive relationships to build engagement and resilience
- Assisting with vocational sessions, classroom tasks, and outdoor learning
- Tracking progress and sharing updates with staff
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people facing SEMH barriers
- An empathetic approach with strong listening skills
- Confidence using clear boundaries and restorative practice
- Reliability and commitment to helping pupils make progress
