SEN Teaching Assistant – Merton

Protocol Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our supportive partner schools in Merton.

You will be working with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). This role requires patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and differentiated activities
  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and academic progress
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and contribute to reviews

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (school or similar setting)
  • Calm, proactive, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
