Ready for a role where your love of English actually gets the room buzzing?

We’re working with a secondary school in Leeds that’s on the lookout for an English teacher who can bring texts to life, spark proper discussion, and make even a Monday morning lesson feel worthwhile.

This isn’t a tick-box role. It’s a chance to step into a school where your subject is valued, your time is respected, and your ideas are genuinely welcomed.

What’s the school like?

Think supportive leadership, a team that pulls together, and students who respond to teachers who care about their craft.

You’ll be joining a department that shares resources, backs each other up, and knows that great teaching isn’t about reinventing the wheel every night.

What you’ll be doing

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience
  • Planning and delivering lessons that actually stick, not just fill time
  • Creating a classroom where students feel confident to speak up and have a go
  • Marking and assessment, without unnecessary workload piling up
  • Working alongside a collaborative and down-to-earth department

What we’re looking for

  • UK QTS (or equivalent)
  • A confident classroom presence, you know how to hold a room without shouting over it
  • A passion for English, whether that’s Shakespeare, spoken word, or helping a reluctant reader finally get it
  • Someone who builds rapport quickly and brings consistency to their teaching
  • ECTs and experienced teachers both welcome

What you’ll get in return

  • Pay to scale, no complicated pay structures
  • A school that supports you, not second-guesses you
  • Access to our FREE CPD Academy, including ongoing training
  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
  • A dedicated consultant who actually listens and gets what you’re looking for
  • Opportunities across a range of schools if you want flexibility or progression

Let’s be honest.
A great English teacher can change how a student sees the world, and themselves.

If you’re ready for a role where that matters, and where you’re backed to do your best work, we’d love to chat.
