SEN Teaching Assistant – Sheffield

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Sheffield. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist pupils with their learning, communication and social development.
- Support children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and other learning needs.
- Help implement individual learning and support plans.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Adapt activities and learning resources to meet individual needs.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence and life skills.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
- Monitor and report on pupils' progress and development.
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
About You

- Able to build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils.
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential. Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN qualification or equivalent experience are advantageous.
