Protocol Education is excited to partner with a warm and inclusive SEN school in Barking that’s looking for a full-time English Teacher to join their amazing team.

You’ll be working in a nurturing environment where small classes and strong support empower you to truly connect with your students. You’ll be the guiding force helping young people aged 11–16 build their literacy skills, boost their confidence, and discover the power of language—all tailored to their unique needs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creating engaging English lessons designed for students with a variety of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Building a classroom atmosphere where every student feels safe, supported, and motivated to succeed.
  • Collaborating closely with teaching assistants and the wider SEN team to deliver consistent, personalised support.
  • Developing personalised learning plans and playing an active role in students’ EHCP goals.
  • Tracking and celebrating student progress, providing feedback that encourages growth.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEN students is highly valued.
  • Deep subject knowledge and a flexible approach to teaching that meets diverse learning styles.
  • Patience, empathy, resilience and a heartfelt commitment to inclusive education.
  • A team player who communicates well and thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
