Job Description:
As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualised educational plans for students with special educational needs (SEN) in a primary school setting. Your primary focus will be on providing tailored support to help SEN students achieve their full potential and academic goals.
Job Duties:
- Developing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of SEN students
- Assessing students' abilities and designing appropriate learning activities
- Collaborating with other teachers and support staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals involved in the students' education
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching students with SEN
- Strong understanding of SEN policies and best practises
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
- Demonstrated experience working with SEN students in a primary school setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Special Education Needs (SEN)
- Experience using assistive technology and resources to support SEN students
Working Conditions:
You will work full-time hours in a primary school in Croydon, Greater London. The role may involve some additional responsibilities outside of regular school hours, such as attending meetings or parent consultations.
