Protocol Education is looking for caring, adaptable, and proactive SEND Teaching Assistants to support a secondary special school in Barking & Dagenham on a day-to-day supply basis.
Whether you have previous SEND experience or a genuine passion for supporting young people, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference — one day at a time.
Each day presents new challenges, but the goal remains the same: helping pupils feel supported, confident, and ready to learn.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting students aged 11–16 with SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD

Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, classroom routines, and behaviour management

Providing targeted 1:1 or small-group support

Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independent learning
You’ll need:

Experience working with children or young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, or care settings welcome)

A patient, flexible, and compassionate approach

DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
