Protocol Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Bristol to recruit a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant for a part-time role starting in Term 6.

This mornings-only position involves supporting a pupil with SEMH needs and a background of trauma on a 1:1 basis. The school is looking for someone calm, patient, and emotionally aware, who can build a positive, trusting relationship and provide consistency throughout the school day.

The role:

  • Supporting a pupil with SEMH and trauma-related needs
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am–12:30pm
  • Helping the child regulate emotions and engage with learning
  • Supporting routines, transitions, and positive behaviour strategies
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support
  • Pay starting from £14.25 per hour PAYE

  • Has experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs
  • Brings a calm, nurturing, and resilient approach
  • Can build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
