A welcoming and inclusive school in Telford is seeking a dedicated Learning & Behaviour Support Assistant to join its specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Hub. Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning requirements within the specialist hub.
- Assist children in accessing a differentiated curriculum tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
- Help implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning.
- Build strong, supportive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
- The ability to remain calm and consistent when supporting children with complex needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
