The best English teachers don't just teach literature—they inspire confidence, spark imagination and give young people the communication skills they'll use for life.

Protocol Education is working alongside a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in South Tyneside to recruit an enthusiastic English Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is committed to high standards, outstanding pastoral care and helping every student discover their potential.

The school has a strong sense of community, where staff are supported to develop professionally and students are encouraged to become confident, independent learners. You'll be joining an established English department that values creativity, collaboration and delivering engaging lessons that bring language and literature to life.

Whether you're an experienced English Teacher looking for your next opportunity or an Early Career Teacher eager to begin your teaching journey, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll deliver inspiring English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop strong reading, writing and communication skills while building their confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

The role will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons.
  • Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their potential.
  • Assessing progress and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Creating an inclusive classroom where every learner feels valued.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and best practice.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school.

Working through Protocol Education, you'll benefit from competitive rates of pay, ongoing CPD, dedicated consultant support and access to long-term and permanent teaching opportunities across the North East.

If you're passionate about inspiring a love of English and making a lasting difference to young people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
