Are you a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of specialist schools in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role due to the location of some schools and the flexibility required.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- ADHD
- Speech and Language Difficulties
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
You will provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom, helping students to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
What We're Looking For:
✅ A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
✅ Experience working with children or young people (education, care, support work, youth work, coaching, etc.)
✅ A patient, proactive, and positive approach
✅ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✅ Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
✅ A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
Desirable:
- Experience within SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision settings
- Team Teach training (or willingness to undertake training)
- Behaviour Management training
- Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
