As a Teacher (Non-QTS), you may deliver lessons, follow existing schemes of work, and contribute to maintaining structured learning environments under the guidance of qualified teaching staff. Roles may be subject-specific or general, depending on school requirements.

Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Teacher (Non-QTS) to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Teacher (Non-QTS) role is suitable for individuals with strong subject knowledge who are seeking classroom teaching experience without holding Qualified Teacher Status.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering lessons using provided lesson plans or curriculum guidance
  • Supporting pupil progress and participation in lessons
  • Applying school behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently
  • Working collaboratively with department staff and senior leaders

Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge relevant to the secondary curriculum
  • Experience working with young people is preferred but not essential
  • Interest in gaining further teaching experience or progressing into teacher training

This Teacher (Non-QTS) role provides valuable classroom exposure within a secondary school setting.
