Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Ferryhill (September Start)

Protocol Education is recruiting Level 3 Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools in Ferryhill, County Durham, from September 2026.

This role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning. You'll support classroom activities, work with individuals and small groups and help create a calm and engaging learning environment.

Position Details

• Full-time
• September 2026 start
• Monday-Friday
• 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30am-4:00pm
• Term-time only
• Long-term opportunities with potential for permanent positions

Your Responsibilities

• Assisting teachers with day-to-day classroom learning
• Supporting literacy, numeracy and other curriculum activities
• Running targeted interventions with small groups
• Providing tailored one-to-one support
• Helping pupils with SEND access their learning
• Supporting classroom preparation and resources
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Has previous experience within a school setting
• Communicates confidently with pupils and staff
• Is enthusiastic, patient and dependable
• Can work collaboratively as part of a wider school team
