Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs in classroom activities
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who require extra help
  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive learning behaviours

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (e.g., CACHE Level 3)
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs

Education:

Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Experience:

Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different special educational needs and how to support them effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Mental Health First Aid training

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in a classroom setting
  • Full-time hours, temporary contract
  • May require some flexibility in working hours
