Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their educational and personal development
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons for SEN students
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Assessing individual student needs and implementing appropriate strategies to support their progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEN support strategies

Education:

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

Prior experience working with SEN students in an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN support strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher-level Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training in specific areas of SEN support

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours may vary but are typically full-time
  • Work primarily takes place within a school setting
  • May involve some physical activity and the need to assist students with mobility
