The Role
You will teach Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop creativity, practical skills, and confidence in problem-solving. The curriculum is broad, well-structured, and offers flexibility to incorporate your subject specialism where possible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and practical DT lessons
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to learn and experiment
- Using a variety of teaching methods and resources to maintain purposeful learning
- Adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Assessing progress effectively and using outcomes to inform future teaching
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and innovation across the department
- Promoting positive behaviour and building strong relationships with students
What We’re Looking For
- UK QTS, or currently working towards QTS as an ECT
- A genuine enthusiasm for Design and Technology and practical learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A reflective mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development
- High expectations combined with an inclusive approach to teaching and learning
