Job Duties:

1. Assist in the educational and social development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

2. Support the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of SEN students.

3. Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.

4. Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

5. Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.

Required Qualifications:

1. DBS checked and registered on the Update Service.

2. Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEN is desirable.

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Additional qualifications in Education or SEN support are advantageous.

Experience:

Prior experience working in an educational setting, particularly with SEN students, is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Understanding of different learning styles and SEN support strategies.

2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

4. Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with SEN.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

2. Training in specific areas of SEN such as autism, dyslexia, or ADHD.

Working Conditions:

1. Work primarily within a school setting, supporting students in classrooms and other learning environments.

2. Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional additional hours for meetings or training.

3. Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to provide the best support for SEN students.

4. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
