Protocol Education is recruiting a Qualified Teaching Assistant to work within a PRU setting in Ferryhill from September. This role offers the opportunity to support young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour while gaining valuable specialist experience.

The Role
You will support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, engagement in education, and behaviour management. The role requires confidence, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people who need additional support.
Responsibilities
- Supporting learning and classroom engagement
- Managing challenging behaviour positively and consistently
- Building trusted relationships with pupils
- Supporting social and emotional development
- Working closely with teaching and support staff
Requirements
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Strong communication skills
- Calm and resilient personality
- Commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
