We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and successful primary school in Harrow from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of phonics and a passion for helping young learners develop confidence and success in reading and writing.

Working closely with class teachers and the English Lead, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across Key Stage 1, delivering targeted interventions and helping children achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning within Key Stage 1 classrooms.
  • Deliver high-quality phonics sessions and interventions.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils requiring additional help with early reading and writing skills.
  • Assist with pupil assessments and progress monitoring.
  • Support the implementation of the school's chosen phonics programme.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of systematic synthetic phonics.
  • Experience delivering phonics interventions and supporting early literacy development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, nurturing and positive approach to supporting children.
  • A commitment to raising achievement and ensuring every child succeeds.
