SEN/SEMH Support Roles – Ideal for Former Carers
Newcastle & Northumberland | £90 – £110 per day | Full-time & part-time roles available

Are you a former carer looking for a new challenge where your patience, empathy, and nurturing skills can make a lasting impact? Schools are seeking compassionate and resilient individuals to support students with SEN and SEMH needs. Your experience in providing personal care, managing behaviours, and promoting emotional well-being makes you an excellent fit for these roles.

The Role:

  • Support students with a range of needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, trauma, and attachment disorders.

  • Help create a nurturing and structured environment where students feel safe and supported.

  • Use your caregiving skills to offer personalised support, building trusting relationships with students.

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to promote positive engagement and learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Background in care work, residential care, or support work – your skills are highly valued.

  • Experience providing emotional and practical support to individuals with additional needs.

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours with compassion and professionalism.

  • Confidence to collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to meet student needs.
