PA to Head Teacher – Secondary School

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly organised PA to the Head Teacher to join a secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and professional individual to provide high-level administrative and organisational support to the Head Teacher, playing a key role in the smooth and effective running of the school.

The Role

As PA to the Head Teacher, you will act as a key point of contact for the Head Teacher and provide comprehensive administrative support. You will need to be highly organised, discreet and able to manage a busy workload while handling sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive PA and administrative support to the Head Teacher
  • Managing diaries, meetings and appointments
  • Coordinating meetings and preparing agendas, papers and minutes
  • Acting as a key point of contact for staff, parents, governors and external stakeholders
  • Drafting correspondence, reports and other professional documentation
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Supporting the Head Teacher with school communications and key administrative processes
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Assisting with the organisation of school events and meetings
  • Working collaboratively with the wider senior leadership and administrative teams

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a PA, Executive Assistant or Senior Administrator
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office
  • A professional, calm and approachable manner
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative
  • A high level of discretion when dealing with confidential information
  • Experience working within a school or education setting would be advantageous
