A welcoming primary school in Elswick is looking for a bright, caring Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their Lower KS2 team. You’ll support pupils across Years 3 and 4, helping them grow in confidence and communication while discovering what it’s really like to make a difference in a classroom every day.

This is a brilliant opportunity to explore education, psychology, or speech and language therapy in action, all while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.

Who You Are:

We’re looking for a graduate who’s ready to bring energy, empathy, and curiosity to the classroom. You might not have teaching experience yet, but you’re someone who:

  • Communicates with warmth and patience, helping children feel heard and understood
  • Enjoys supporting children as they build confidence, language, and learning skills
  • Sees every small breakthrough as a big win and celebrates children’s progress
  • Wants to gain real classroom experience and make a difference every single day

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils in class with their learning and communication skills
  • Delivering small group language interventions using the school’s language programme (we will provide training on this)
  • Helping pupils develop their speech, listening, and confidence
  • Being a friendly, hands-on presence on the playground and during lunch duties
  • Bringing energy and empathy to every interaction

What you’ll get from Protocol Education:

  • Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella companies!)
  • Free access to our CPD Academy, including the Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) course
  • Personal consultant support throughout your placement
  • Opportunities in mainstream and SEND settings to help you grow your experience
  • Thrive training, completely free, to boost your confidence and employability
  • If you’re ready to step into a role where you can make a real difference every single day, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who’s keen to explore education, psychology, or speech and language therapy in a real classroom setting. Apply today!
