SEMH Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Do you have a passion for student well-being and mental health? A caring and supportive secondary school in the Newcastle area is looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The Role:
✔ Provide 1:1 mentoring and group support for students experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
✔ Help students build confidence, resilience, and coping strategies.
✔ Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to create a positive learning environment.
✔ Assist in implementing behaviour intervention plans.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Experience in SEMH, mental health, youth work, or education (preferred but not essential).
✔ A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
✔ Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development.
